A Visit To The Toronto Science Centre & Black Creek Pioneer Village Museums

We paid a visit to Toronto, Ontario last weekend.  We went to Black Creek Pioneer Village and the Ontario Science Center.

Black Creek Pioneer Village is an amazing Historical Site to visit.  The village is located on a property/farm originally owned by the Strong Family.  Their original log home dating to 1816, as well as the families second home/farmhouse built in 1832, are two of the many houses, buildings, barns & Mill to visit.  The 30 acre site is absolutely beautiful to stroll through.  This is a very family friendly outdoor museum of living history with hands on experiences for the entire family.  They have a children's activity centre where you can learn about pioneer life, and learn some early pioneer skills.  They can try their tiny hands at carding wool, building a stool, building a cabin. tiling a shake roof, weaving, braiding, quilt block puzzles, dress up, and so much more.  They have many different species of trees and plants on the property. We collected nuts, and leaves for later projects.

There were many farm animals that the kids had a great time visiting with💕

Hmmm ...that must have been super hard work!

The kids were able to play with some early replicas of toys from the period.  Some of these toys were available for purchase in the gift shop, so we picked up a few wonderful things for our North America Continent box.

The kids loved the Ontario Science Center.

Mr. Xander blew his very first bubble!

Xander and daddy made some cool paper air planes, and flew them in the "test flight" area.

This was an amazing trip to Toronto!
